YOU CANNOT DENY THE POWER OF THE RESURRECTION

The resurrection of Jesus Christ stands as the defining moment in human history. It is the unshakable cornerstone of the Christian faith, a divine declaration that death has been defeated, sin has lost its sting, and eternal hope is now available to all who believe. One cannot simply glance at the empty tomb and walk away unaffected. To confront the resurrection is to confront the very heart of God’s redemptive plan, and you cannot deny it.

The Bible boldly declares this truth. In Luke 24:5–6, the angel asks, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!” This was not mere poetry; it was the fulfillment of countless prophecies, a supernatural event that changed everything. Jesus Christ, crucified and buried, rose again on the third day. In 1 Corinthians 15:3–4, Paul affirms this foundational belief: “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and He was raised on the third day.”

Skeptics and atheists may raise many question. Some intellectual and emotional. They ask, “If God exists, why doesn’t He just show Himself?” But He did—through Christ. Not only did He live among us, He allowed Himself to be crucified for our sins and then demonstrated His divine authority by rising from the grave. Others claim, “Dead people don’t come back to life,” and they are right in natural terms. But the resurrection is not a natural event. It is a supernatural miracle, proving that God is above nature. Still others ask, “Why believe in a resurrection that happened 2,000 years ago?” The answer lies in the evidence: over 500 people saw the risen Christ (1 Corinthians 15:6), the disciples who once fled in fear became fearless proclaimers of the Gospel, and countless lives have been transformed across centuries. You don’t give your life for a lie. You give your life for the truth that set you free.

Let me share this story with you this story told me by my Sunday School teacher.

Several years, an elderly man named Kojo was known for his resistance to religion. A widower and a skeptic, he often said, “Dead men don’t rise. Religion is for those who fear death.” But one Easter, his young granddaughter convinced him to attend church. There, he heard the resurrection message—that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again to give us hope. The words struck him deeply, especially the thought that Jesus defeated death and offered eternal life. That very day, Kojo believed. His life changed, and he became a joyful witness of Christ's power, no longer a skeptic but a man reborn.

The resurrection itself is a miracle of divine love and power. Jesus, after suffering on the cross for the sins of humanity, was buried in a sealed tomb. On the third day, by the power of the Holy Spirit, He rose. The stone was rolled away not so Jesus could escape, but so the world could witness that the grave was empty. Roman guards were left speechless, and His disciples were filled with awe. Jesus appeared, alive, to Mary, to Peter, to the disciples, and to hundreds of others. His wounds were still visible, but He was glorified. This event was not hidden; it was public, verified, and historically credible.

But what does this mean for us today?

It means joy unspeakable. It means that sin no longer has the final say. It means that death is no longer a closed door, but a passage into eternal life. It means that broken hearts can be healed, that guilt can be washed away, that purpose can be found. The resurrection brings forgiveness, freedom, power, and hope. Jesus’ victory becomes our victory.

Because He lives, we can face tomorrow. Because He lives, fear is gone. Because He lives, we are never alone. The resurrection is not just an event; it’s a daily reality for those who follow Christ. Romans 8:11 tells us that the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead now lives in us. We have resurrection power living within us, not to live ordinary lives, but to live boldly for God.

And so, here comes the charge: Let us be serious with God. If Jesus gave everything for us, even His life; then we must not treat our faith casually. This is not the time for lukewarm Christianity. This is the time to be holy, to be committed, to live for the One who died and rose for us. Romans 12:1 says, “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”

Let go of sin. Cast aside distractions. Pursue righteousness. Live not for the approval of man but for the glory of God. Let every decision, every action, every heartbeat declare, “He is risen, and I belong to Him!”

And because He lives, you can live too…
