THE PRIZE WE FAIL TO ACKNOWLEDGE
We must not take for granted the
gift God has given us. Nelson Mandela
once said ‘It always seem impossible until it is done’. The only difference between
you and the person you admire that has achieved
greatness is that, he or she knows something that you do not know.
Everyone is born with greatness and
everyone has the potential of greatness; but there is a prize to pay to attain
that greatness.
Today we celebrate innovations,
technological feats and mind-blowing discoveries exhibited by our fellow human beings.
Why do some people achieve greatness
whiles their contemporaries are laid by?
Before I unfold some untold truth
about the prize of greatness, I want to encourage you to be determined to live
your life in such a way that, when you die and leave the earth; generations
after you will know that once upon a time a person like you did live.
Greatness is an awesome feat most
especially when it brings a kind of liberation to the human race.
Selfishness and greed are in the
homes of mediocre people whereas Gladness and exploits are in the homes of
great people.
Dear reader, understand that a vision of what to
wear, a car to buy, a house to build, the desire of fame are the dreams of ‘babies’(shallow
thinkers) but a vision of making an impact and transforming the lives of
people in your world are the dreams of
great people.
Have you ever wondered why most
great people are silent about their
success stories and the prize they paid? Until we discover the prize our great people have paid, we may not
achieve the kinds of feats they have achieved.
A wise man said, ‘the shoes of
giants are very big, however the feeble feet of an admirer in the giant’s shoes
will build his capacity and tenacity till he engages the exact things the
giants do to achieve the same level of achievements and beyond’.
Bishop David Oyedepo once said, ‘
every Star has a scar and the scar of every star is sacrifice’. This stands to
explain that Stars are paying deadly prizes far above their contemporaries.
I believe you want to achieve greatness
but understand that it does not come on a silver platter and a presented plate
of ‘meal’ but there are prizes to be paid to see the
manifestation of your dream.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE PRIZES OF GREATNESS?
1
- Believe
and acknowledge in God. All good and perfect gifts come from God and God is the
one who gives one the ability to achieve greatness
2- Discipline
–No great leader waste his time on frivolous things at the expense of his or
her dreams
3- Diligence-
Be diligent to your task and doggedly pursue your vision
4- Sacrifice-
Going beyond the ordinary to accomplish extra ordinary results
5- Stay
Positive- A narrow mind can in no sense be expanded to attempt thinking of
doing exploits. Engage in positive complements
No great star
runs a normal schedule. Life is a race; you can decide to walk, run or fly, but
whichever way you choose make sure you catch your Kairos moment.
